My weight loss journey

Why I want to go on a diet….

I just need to go on a diet.

When I’m in the car, my big belly gets in the way. My pants are too tight and I just don’t feel well.

When I’m at home, I spend most of the time sitting on the couch or in a chair. At the computer or doing my hobby: needlework. I always have something in my hands. Either a crochet project or a knitting project. That is fun to do and relaxing for me. But it makes me fat, all that sitting.

Of course, I’m not a dumb blonde (sorry to the ladies who are blonde: you aren’t dumb either, but the expression just fits well in the text here); I know that you don’t lose weight by sitting still.

And if you also have all kinds of treats in the cupboard, it can be quite a challenge. Chips, chocolate, gingerbread cookies with a chocolate coating.

The challenge of not walking to the cupboard is already big, but the challenge of not doing this a few times a day is also very strong.

But I want to get rid of that feeling that my stomach is in my throat. That thick, greasy feeling of being overweight. Feeling the rolls of fat bulging over my waistband.

I’m just done with it.

And I may be over 50, but that doesn’t mean I should just let myself go and accept that my digestion is changing and that I’m suffering from (I wanted to write ‘getting,’ but I already have it) obesity.

Besides that, I find it nerve-wracking, because I have a fellow actor (I’m in theater) who has also lost weight, and not even that much, but he had a mild heart attack. That doesn’t mean I’ll get that too, or that it’s caused by the weight loss. But I am thinking about it.

But if I don’t do anything about my weight, then I can’t rule out things I might get.
